The Fine Print: Here’s what we read in January

Set in the 1950s and 60s Bolivian revolution, the novel travels among characters and tells a big story within a short book. In her newest novel, YA author (and another upcoming Festival guest) Mitali Perkins undertakes a tremendous task: telling a complexly woven multigenerational story of five women grappling with romance, friendship, and the Indian-American identity.

Rounding out our list of must-reads from upcoming Festival authors: Lidia Yuknavitch’s “love letter” to misfits. In her book, she sends out a call to action to all those who feel out of place. Embrace what makes you an oddball!
